Superman Party!!!!

Our younger son has a love affair with all things Superman.  Don’t ask me how considering when it all started he’d not seen a movie, action figure, or costume.  Now, of course, we have all those things and more.  Not to mention his obsession is full blown!

We had new neighbors over to eat last weekend and the dad told us that until that day, he didn’t know that he’d seen Elijah in his “regular” clothes.  My response should’ve been that he sees him in his “regular” clothes everyday….the superman costume!!

So, when it was time to celebrate a special day, we invited Supeman for the job!  He was AMAZING!!!!  Magic, bubbles, parachute games, jokes, tickle tunnel, and balloons.  The kids (aged from 2 to 7) all loved it and our little guy was as happy as a clam!!!

Pirate’s Life is the Life for Me

Our sons have always shared a bedroom until recently.  Roman, the older, requested his “own room”.  So, I probed him with a few questions.  If he were decorating his room, he told me he’d choose to decorate with pirates, red, black, and dark blue (because the ocean is DARK blue, not light blue).  With that info, my wheels were turning.  Daddy Bear took the cubs off for a visit to Grandma and Grandpa’s and Mama Bear started the transformation.  48 hours later, we had a Pirate Room fit for our little scallywag!

Birthday Party Sanity Savers!!

Just a snippit of what we talked about….

• Hand off the camera to a friend or family member!  Make sure your batteries are charged and your memory card is empty and ask someone to capture your special moments.  Make sure you ask your “photographer” before the party, and look forward to special memories with you IN the picture! 
• Throw out unwrapping!  Allow your child to unwrap their gifts AFTER their friends leave.  Make sure your child knows what to expect and look forward to avoiding envy, duplicate embarrassment, and crying fits.
• Don’t want to use your house?  Think park pavilions, community center rooms, church & daycare facilities, and neighborhood association rooms & clubhouses.
• Have something for the kids to do!  Planned crafts, games, and entertainers help structure your time and channel the birthday excitement!
